I’m very fortunate to have a space to sew and to store my craft materials. It’s part of a ground floor extension that was built by the folk we bought this house from and is a long, fairly narrow room (as it replaced a car port). I share it with books, guitars, files and my husband’s treasured Lego models!
In the last few weeks I’ve switched it around a bit and am finding it works much better. I can sit near the window and there’s space to cut out bigger projects in the middle of the floor.
The furniture that holds my sewing supplies (plus yarn, of course, and some paper crafts) is a 4×4 IKEA Expedit (now replaced by Kallax) unit – with desk attached – that I bought from a friend. There’s also an upcycled cupboard that I painted last year, with an IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard perched on top of it. I have a lot of tool, patterns and notions! Printed pdf patterns are in a basket under the desk and magazines are stored in one of the cube sections. My books are on a shelf at the other end of the room.
I’m thankful for this quiet space where I can be creative, listen to podcasts and count my blessings.
