I started to write this on a seemingly quiet day (despite a looming general election) but since then we’ve had the news of a brutal attack in Manchester, and I felt it right to pause and acknowledge it. I’m thankful for all those who have come together to support the grieving and care for the injured and am praying for the city, our nation and the wider world.
This Bible verse keeps coming to mind and for me is helpful as we work out our responses to pain, sorrow and evil around us.
8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8 (NIV)
At home it’s been another largely blue and stripy week but I can see more colour starting to appear. The week in pictures follows, working left to right:
Day 19: Sewing a McCall M7533 top while wearing a self drafted tee and Kommatia jeans (see day 4 of week 1; no photo here as I was too busy sewing and looking after my 7 year old who was unwell and spent the day on the sofa).
Day 21: looking after the 0-3-year- old’s at church required practical clothes. Marilla Walker Roberts Collection dress over a shirt version of McCall’s M7533 from Love Sewing Magazine issue 40 in cotton cambric by Atelier Brunette with mother of pearl buttons.
May you have peace in your hearts and your homes this week, whatever your circumstances may be.
